Our Program

ART SMART is a unique enriched arts program that offers every student at Clinton Junior Public School meaningful, community-powered arts experiences that spark fun, growth, and connection.

Established in 1989 through a generous gift from the late Beatrice Minden, the program was created to ensure all students have access to enriched arts opportunities. ART SMART is powered by the registered charity Friends of Clinton (#139821805RR0001).

Creative sessions, artist honorariums, and materials are funded and supported by volunteer parents, teachers, and the broader school community. ART SMART is not part of the TDSB and is not offered at other schools.

What’s Going On

Programming Update

This year, ART SMART is introducing a new approach to program delivery by partnering with arts organizations that bring experience working with children and professional artists into our school. This helps ensure we can sustainably offer the meaningful arts experiences ART SMART promises to every student at Clinton PS.

Our program partner for this year is Blank Canvases. We’re thrilled to welcome their team of professional artist educators, who will be leading two sessions. We’re also grateful for the community’s continued support as we begin this new creative journey together.

ART NIGHT 2026

Mark your calendars because Art Night returns on May 7th. Clinton’s annual celebration of student creativity is one of our community’s favourite events, and we are excited to bring it back in 2026. As ART SMART programming gets underway in the new year, students will begin creating the works that will be showcased during this special evening. More details will be shared in the spring.

Holiday Fundraiser Thank You!

Thank you to everyone who supported ART SMART’s Holiday Plant Fundraiser. Alongside the smiles on students’ faces during ART SMART sessions, your generosity and community support keep the program going. From winter greenery to bright bursts of student creativity, the impact will be felt and seen throughout the year.
